{MOVIE} Power Ranger: It’s Morphing (Bonding) Time

Five ordinary teens must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

The most anticipated movie for all 90’s kids. FYI, I’ve been watching all Power Ranger series from the first one until Jungle Fury. Most of my inspiration comes from Power Ranger. My favorite is Dino Thunder and Mystic Force.

When I read news about remake, I was excited. But then I calmed myself down and told myself to not set any expectations. The story was about five teenager who accidentally found strange energy source and become warrior. Although the main focus is defeat the evil Rita, I think this movie more focused on how these teenagers bonding as group.

We spent 1 hour seeing each member struggle with their own issue. I didn’t realized it until they gather around campfire, telling their story. That was when I realize this movie want us to focus on how Power Ranger unite. As group, as friends.

It’s not like they suddenly become friendly with each other, instead they take time to listen and learn each other’s personality. I love the scene where Kimberly and Trini practicing at cafe. It’s feels like they finally understand each other’s mind.

Honestly, my main reason to watch this movie was because Lionsgate. I know their CGI quality is the best in the industry, so I think it’s safe to expect something amazing from them. And they didn’t disappointed me.

The storyline may little bit cliche, the Transformer vibe are too strong with their new suit, but for CGI, act performance and their humor sense, I think this movie is great. Plus, it’s highly recommend for people who love both Power Ranger and anything that related with robot stuff.

{JOURNAL} Trip To Lombok: 5 Days Escape From Reality

A month ago, my father asked me to joined him in his reunion trip. At first, I hesitated to say yes but my father convinced me that I need vacation (working at boutique exhaust me, physically and mentally). In the end, I joined my father and sister went to Lombok.

Day 01

We were lucky got first flight in the morning. We arrived at Lombok around 8 and had breakfast at airport.

Two hours later, Dad’s friend pick us up and we went to hotel. We met lots of another Dad’s friends as well. To be honest, I didn’t expect there’s going to be 20 people in this trip, considering that most of Dad’s friends are not younger anymore. But although they’re old, their spirit are young.

Anyway, we decided to went to Tanjung Aan beach.

I have no word for this. It’s too beautiful.

Then we took a boat to the next destination, Batu Payung Beach.

That’s me, with my Dad. (^^)

We took lots of photos in both site, also enjoyed the water and sand. Oh, we also find a swing ^^

Please don’t mind my face XDD

After enjoyed play around Tanjung Aan Beach, we walk little bit to Selong Belanak Beach.

I’m speechless. What word that would be fit for this beauty?

The sun was gone, time for dinner.

Dad’s friends took us to a restaurant named “Sate Rembiga”. They’re served Sate Rembiga and Spicy Duck (Bebek Pedas) for our dinner.

If you’re spicy food lover, you’ll love it, but since I’m sweet tooth, I kinda dislike it. I couldn’t ate more than two. Really. Too hot for my taste.

Day 02

It’s second day! Not much place we went to, but the fun part of this day was we were went to Gili Trawangan! ^^

But, before that, we went to Kuta Mandalika Beach for morning walk.

After breakfast, we took a car and went to Desa Sade (Sade village). They’re known for their “kidnapping” tradition. The “kidnapping” tradition is where a guy kidnap a girl whom they love as proposal to the girl’s parents. In 3 days, the girl’s parents should agree and give their blessing.

Unfortunately, we don’t had much time to explored the village because it almost Jumu’ah time. I hope I can go back and learn more about this unique village and its tradition.

From Sade to Lombok Islamic Center. Because it’s Friday, most of men are do Jumu’ah  while women do Dzhuhur pray as usual. But something funny happened. When I was arrived at women’s section, some of guys said, ” Come, come! Today is special day! Today’s khatib is Tuan Guru Bajang!”

I was wondered who is Tuan Guru Bajang when I noticed most of women around me didn’t stand and do Dzhuhur. Instead, they sat and heard the khutbah. I was like, ” Aren’t we supposed to pray now?”

I sat, waited the adzan, but the adzan time already passed, so I confused. When the khutbah done, all women stand and do Jumu’ah. I was shocked. I never know women are allowed to do Jumu’ah. But I followed them, although my mind being completely blank.

But you know what, the most surprising thing that I heard after pray was about Tuan Guru Bajang. Turns out, he’s the Governor of Nusa Tenggara Barat.

After shocking event, I, along with all tour member, went to harbour. We took speed boat to went to Gili Trawangan. It was amazing experience. At first, it felt scary but after few minutes, I start enjoy it.

We spend the rest of night with tasty dinner and some jokes. Seriously, these people aren’t as old as their pyshical. They’re really crack me up!

Dad, you’re so lucky having friends like that.

Bytheway, I’d been ate lot of seafood in here. I forgot what kind of fish was, but it’s delicious!

Day 03

It’s 3rd day, and we’re prepared for snorkeling! I was waited this day, only to find out I got period! (-_________________-)

Well, to cheer myself up, I took morning walk around beach.

Now, it’s time for snorkeling!

After snorkelling, we packed our stuff and back to Lombok. Our next destination is Taman Narmada (Narmada Garden)

The guide said this was a place where King and Queen rest.

Also, there’s Telaga Ajeng. replica of Segara Anakan

But I think the most anticipated one was this:

There’s sacred water source that will make a person become eternally young. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enter since I’m on period. Hmph.

Well, at least we could take a photo.

Next stop: Sate Bulayak

I forgot to asked my Dad what’s difference between Sate Rembiga and Sate Bulayak. Both of them are spicy, tho. (-_-) But hey, this time, I managed to ate all of it! Yeeeyyy!!!

Oh, and of course, we took another photo.

Day 04

It’s last day of our trip. My Dad’s friend took us to Sembalun. It’s near Mount Rinjani.

We didn’t hike too far because most of Dad’s friends are tired (I guess they finally reach their limit), so we just hike few meters and took photo.

But my favorite part of this day was learned how to weave

They said, if a girl have been mastered the weave technique, it means she’s ready to be married ( O_O)

Day 05

Time to go home! Kinda sad because I feel like there’s lots of place I have to visit. I also feel sad because the next day I have to go back to reality >.<

Our flight was around 1 PM, so we took time for brunch.

Then, we back to Bekasi.

5 days isn’t enough for visit all gorgeous places in Lombok, but it’s enough for short getaway and relaxation. I ever heard someone said that travelling will help you recover from stress and depression. I wasn’t believed it, because not everyone have that kind of luxury and money to travel whenever they want. But this trip did help me ease my mind. It sound hypocrite for me, but maybe, maybe for once in a while, we need time for ourselves.

Some people doing it by travelling a lot, but others may find peace at home and do hobbie.

So what’s yours? How do you spend time for relaxing?

{JOURNAL} Eid Mubarak 1438 H: Just Two Of Us

Hello, guys and Eid Mubarak to all Moslems around the world!

This year, my Dad decided to stay at home instead going to Yogya as we used to. But since my sister already got married, so it’s just two of us in here! ^^

Like last year, we walk and greet our neighbours after Eid pray. Although I already done this last year, it’s still feel awkward greeting them personally. That’s what happen when you’re too busy and don’t have a time for socializing (._.”)

Anyway, I don’t need to say too much, so Eid Mubarak everyone!

{GAMES} Living Legends: Beast of Bremen

Your sister has been chosen to play at Bremen’s legendary music festival! But your joy is short-lived when a dark fog blankets the town and your sister goes missing! To top it all off, someone is transforming people into animals! Can you uncover the sinister magic at play and save the city?

Living Legends - Beast of Bremen

Whenever I play Living Legends, I always try to figure out which folklore they use as inspiration. In the first game, it was Ice Queen. The second one was Snow White, while the third one was Goldilocks and the Three Bear. And if I remember correctly, the fourth one was inspired by Rumpelstiltskin. Now, for the fifth installment, I think they combine Rapunzel and Sandman (please correct me if I’m wrong)

The storyline in Beast of Bremen start with very basic plot: save your own sibling. But as times goes by, the plot twist that appear in each chapter make this game feels fun and interesting. The revelation made me cry so hard. I forgot when the last time I feel so emotional with game’s storyline.

I have no complain for their high quality graphic. It combined beautifully with enchanting soundtrack. Their voice acting also on top, compared with previous game. You can say 4 Friends Games has been improving their style.

For gameplay, although I play on casual mode, it still feel challenging and hard sometime. If you have been in HOPA genre for long time, you’ll love the quality of HOS and puzzle. It’s super entertaining, not feel repetitive like other games. Wow, you just win my heart, 4 Friends Games.

Anyway, if you purchase the Collector Edition, you’ll get bonus chapter that tells the story before the event in main chapter.

Once again, 4 Friends Games stole my heart with their fantastic game. Oh, and what folklore that will inspire them next time?

{GAMES} Cursed Cases: Murder at Maybard Estate

Emmett Maybard has been murdered in his sprawling mansion, and it looks like he’s not the only family member the killer’s after! News of your supernatural abilities has spread, and you’ve been called in to investigate the case. Can you uncover the murderer before it’s too late, or will you be next?

Cursed Cases - Murder at Maybard Estate

In this game, we play as detective who has supernatural ability, which allows us to see the past by using Aura monocle. The premise is kinda interesting, but it falls flat quickly. That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy finding a clue by seeing the past. I just wish there’s something more in this feature.

Another feature is Forensic Kit. This tools can be use when we collecting fingerprint. In the ending, we use this to compare all fingerprint that we already collected. It’s very easy task as you only compare which one that looks different.

But aside from that, I have to say their visual is amazing. The animation also great, although sometime seeing the character’s movement can be awkward. And let’s talk about voice over. Whoever done it, I want to give them standing ovation. It’s full of emotion and making the character look lively.

The main chapter’s story was great, but not the bonus one. It took me half hour to completed it, and it doesn’t add anything important to the main chapter.

Still, Cursed Cases: Murder at Maybard Estate is fun game to play during a break. Hopefully the developer improve it in the next one (if they plan to make a sequel)

{GAMES} Beyond: Star Descendant

Thomas’s birthday started out so well, but among his presents was a strange device carrying a mysterious message claiming to know the truth about his past. When Thomas leaves to meet the mysterious stranger behind this message, it’s up to you as his mother to find Thomas and bring him back home. Travel across the universe, journeying across strange new planets, and gathering clues to discover Thomas’s true origin and the dangerous power growing inside of him. Can you convince Thomas to come back home?

Beyond - The Star Descendant

We all know Mad Head Games love experimenting with variation of puzzle and HOS. And that’s what made me love the sequel of Beyond. Although I expected it will be direct sequel from predecessor, but I still enjoy the whole story. I keep denying about who Thomas is, but throughout the game, I learned accepted the truth. In main chapter, we explore different location in space and searching how to escape from tyrant space leader. While in bonus chapter, we learned about how Sarah save Thomas when he was a baby.

For the gameplay, I totally enjoy and having fun with the storybook where we learned the background story. But my favorite puzzle in Star Descendants is this:

Beyond - The Star Descendant (2)

The visual of game is gorgeous. I think Mad Head Games love spoiling their fans by creating visual with stellar quality. I always love their color choice, the animation and details in their game.

The only flaw in Beyond: Star Descendants is the difficulty. I found it more easier since I’ve been used to Mad Head’s game system. But it’s fine, not really a big deal. I just wish I could play little bit longer.

Also, love the fact that we can use Thomas’s ability to open a portal! He’s not only being the one who need helped, but he can be our helper too! That was such big improvement, since most of the time, when we save someone, they become damsel in distress, nothing they can do except standing waiting MC take an action.

Anyway, with all these amazing quality, I do hope Mad Head Games continue bring us surprises in the next game. Because honestly, I’m craving more and more from them :p
