Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.
I know this review is late because I already watched it a day after the movie officially released, but work didn’t let me take a break *sigh*.
Who doesn’t know Beauty and the Beast? I bet all 90’s kids like me love this tale. It teach us for never judge someone by their appearance. Long before I heard Disney’s plan to produce the live-action version, I was researched the theory that said if Belle actually suffer from Stockhlom Syndrome. But then I decided to ignore all that theory and just enjoy the movie instead.
The first thing that caught my attention was the music. It’s lovely scene, in my opinion. I know not everyone enjoy the musical part, I even heard some of my friends complained about it. But to me, it’s awesome.
The best musical scene is when all servants serve dinner for Belle. The effect is incredible with lots of lighting playing in this scene. The singing is also enchanting.
Not only the musical, the whole set is fantastic. Their property, the castle set and even the costume, everything is perfect. You will forget that the plot doesn’t give any twist because of this incredible set. Disney really spoiled our eyes.
The actor&actress’s performance also deserves standing ovation. They bring the characters into life. Honestly, my first reason why I wanna watch it is because there’s Emma Watson and Luke Evans. It always fun seeing the actor playing different role from their previous film. Especially when the actor have the strong image from their previous role.
Lovely dance scene. It’s so magical (T^T)
Highly recommend for anyone who loves classic tale and musical as well. (^__^)
