4 Movies In 1 Month

March is craziest month I ever had. Not because the fact that I was born in March, but I feel like I spend too much money just for movie in this month.  Remember when I said London Has Fallen is unplanned? (Check Spontaneous Movie Date)

Yes, it’s totally unplanned because all I want for March is Allegiant. Nothing else. But as wise man said, men can plan anything they want, but it’s up to God to make it true or not. And surprise, I spend more than 200K in 1 month.

4 Movies In 1 Month

Yup, I usually planning my monthly budget for hanging out about around 200-300K rupiah. That’s if I also plan to buy a book. But if I’m only want to watch movie, I’ll prepare 200K rupiah.

And guess what?

I’m officially broke.

Well, not really broke because I, in fact, still depend on my dad. Financially. And because I will graduate this year, I need to find stable job so I can manage my finance by own. Lots of good movie are coming out this year. That means I need lots of money.

Now, let me explain how I ended up watched 4 movie in 1 month:

This is the funniest movie I ever watched. There’s few scene that seems like shading action animation movie where protagonist fighting against antagonist and during that scene, those two is talked too much. I love how Po keeps cutting Kai by said “ Chit chat. Chitty chitty chat chat,”. Damn, that scene is gold.

Whenever I watch this kind of movie, I often think, “ Is this…little bit offensive?” I mean, there’s lot of Americans movie where American play as victim while other country is evil, and honestly, I’m tired with that plot. Is this how Americans puts propaganda?

Maybe.

Now, I only talk about acting performance and storyline since I’m not expert in analyzing CGI. But when we watched, K repeatedly said, “ The effect is bad! The effect is bad!”

I admit, I kinda worried what will they do once they ended movie like that. But when I saw the first scene, the worries is faded away. As the movie goes forward, I felt more and more excited.

{REVIEW} Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice

It’s been nearly two years since Superman’s colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

Please note: The review will be short as this one isn’t from my pure observation. I’m not big fan of DC Comics so I’ll combine K’s POV and my POV to review the movie.

According to K, the figure of Superman in the film is portrayed more humane than the previous film, while Batman portrayed weaker. This can lead to disappointment for some fans. In my opinion, the Batman character portrayed too childish and cannot think very clearly. But still, I give my thumbs up to Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill for their briliant acting.

{REVIEW} Nevertales: Beauty Within

Just when you were finally done with work for the day, a stranger comes knocking loudly at your door. When you answer there’s no one… no one except a helpless baby abandoned on your doorstep. You follow after the stranger, hoping to find some answers but are drawn into a mystery that beckons you into a castle-like mansion. Who does the baby belong to? Why were you chosen?

Nevertales - Beauty Within (1)

This is the BEST games EVER.

Not exaggareting, but it’s really AMAZING.

Let’s talk about graphics and voice over, okay?

It’s beautiful. It has wonderful color, stunning effects and smooth animations. The voice over is great, not over the top and the soundtrack is like fairytale.

Another Spontaneous Movie Date (Birthday Edition)

March 15th is the day when I will get at least 4 or 5 people saying “ Happy Birthday!”. When I was kid, I used to asked my mother to made huge party so I could feel special and got a lot of gift. You can call it lame excuse, but I just realized that the reason why I wanted a huge party is because I felt jealous with my big sister who got gift from her friend.

That jealousy feeling is still there, but not because my sister, because most of my classmates get gift or cake. Then I realized maybe I shouldn’t expect any gift since not much people remember my birthday and I should make it special by myself.

So, on March 15th, 2016, I decided to went out with K to celebrate my birthday. My first plan is walking around in bookstore, looking a good book, but when we take little break in front of XXI Cinema, I saw KungFu Panda 3 poster.

I asked K, “ Should we go to bookstore or KungFu Panda 3?”

K answered, “ It’s up to you. Today is your birthday,”

You can guess what happened next.
IMG_20160322_175254

I’m happy I chose KungFu Panda 3. It’s been long time I didn’t watch animated film (yep, I’m not join in Inside Out and Zootopia hype a while ago). But I don’t wanna talk about the movie in this post, because it will be in different post that I will post after London Has Fallen review.

Anyway, it looks like watching movie is my new hobby. I make my want-to-watch list too much since last year. And it also become part of my therapy. It make me forget everything for 2 hours.

So…what kind of movie I should watch next?

Anyone has idea?

To be honest, I watch this movie not because I’m curious or what, but because K ask me search the english subtitle since he need it to learn vocabulary and pronounciation. And I ended up watched the whole movie.

At first, we planned to return immediately after I put chapters 4 and 5 on lecturer’s desk. But then I saw K looks gloomy. Then, I ask him if he want to dinner with me so he could told me what made him moody. Unexpectedly, K took me for a movie.

Before arriving at the location, we agreed to watch Gods of Egypt. But unfortunately, there are only three movie titles available. We finally chose London Has Fallen since we already watched the prequel, Olympus Has Fallen.
